How To Make Crispy Zero Carb Chicken Wings

Updated: Apr 13, 2019

Have you ever gone out to eat, saw chicken wings on the menu and thought, "PERFECT! I'll order wings and my keto lifestyle will be safe." Only for them to arrive and have some sort of breading.

Is it so much to ask for crispy chicken wings without breading? NOPE. It's not too much to ask. It's actually easier than you may think. Read on (or watch above) to find out how. Then head down to your local grocery store and buy them out of wings, because you're about to see how easy it is to have great wings all the time.

Here's how you can make ZERO carb CRISPY chicken wings.

Ingredients:

  • Oil

  • Chicken Wings

No, really. That's it. That's all you need.

Step 1: Heat the oil to 250 degrees.

Step 2: Add the wings to the oil and cook for 20 minutes. Depending on how many you are cooking, you may need to do this in batches because the wings will lower the temperature of the oil.

Step 3: Let the wings rest for 1-hour.

If you are prepping wings to eat throughout the week, this is when you would store them. I like to package 8 wings—4 flats, 4 drumsticks—in a bag for convenience. Put them in the freezer, or keep in the fridge for up to three days. When you're ready to eat them, move on to step four.

Step 4: Heat oil to 375-400 degrees.

Step 5: Fry for roughly 10 minutes or until they are golden brown.

And that's it! Strain them and enjoy your crispy zero carb chicken wings. I like to melt some butter and mix in some lemon pepper seasoning for some delicious lemon pepper chicken wings.

Once I month, I will buy a big pack of chicken wings from Costco or our local butcher's shop and do steps 1 and 2, and store the wings in my freezer. Then throughout the month, if I need a quick meal, I'll grab a pack of the wings and fry them up for dinner. Makes for some quick and easy dinners throughout the month.

Enjoy!
